Our coffee shop was vandalized, leading to this closure. We have sustained significant damage to our business and community safety.
Viet80s has always been a place where we share the welcoming atmosphere of Vietnamese culture with everyone, regardless of their background. For several years, we have worked tirelessly to provide a unique cultural experience and contribute to Nottingham's diversity. We have cherished countless memories and received immense love from you all. It is important for us to keep you updated on this incident to maintain our connection.
❌What Happened:
- Around 1 a.m. on August 5th, three masked individuals vandalized our property at 65-67 Friar Lane.
- They broke our glass door, causing extensive damage and compromising safety.
- The intruders stole valuable machines, devices, and money.
- Lost items include money, business systems, electronic equipment, laptops, and tablets.
- Furniture was damaged, and glass items were broken.
Thankfully, no one was injured.
✅Our Actions:
- We reported the incident to the police and council, but have not yet received support.
- We have notified our staff and ensured their safety.
- For protection, we have boarded up the doors.
- We have suspended orders on our delivery platforms (UberEats, Deliveroo).
- We are seeking authorization to enhance security measures.
- We are assessing the financial impact.
The shop will remain closed until further notice. We cannot currently estimate when we will be able to reopen.

- Our Viet80s Restaurant remains open. Please visit and talk with us; we ensure everyone feels welcomed and safe.
- We are working to rebuild the coffee shop with improved security.
- We urge everyone to stay safe, be vigilant with your property and neighborhood, and support each other.
- Just 12 hours after the incident, we received an outpouring of care and well-wishes from you, our greatest supporters.
